Eric & Rebecca purchased Bay Area Racquet Club in 2009. Over the past 16+ years, the club has been completely transformed, but most important, the club has maintained a safe, family friendly, and relaxing atmosphere for children and adults to grow and develop and to share their passion for the sport of tennis! Rebecca and Eric have been a dynamic duo for nearly 30 years together and have raised two amazing children.
Eric is a former Nationally Ranked Junior College Player (#19 in nation Doubles & #48 in nation Singles, May 1997).
Eric brings 30 years of professional instruction, has been a USPTA (now RSPA) certified professional for 25+ years, and is a 7 X TAPPS State Champion Coach, including Back to Back 2024 & 2025 Village School Boys Team State Champions!
Irwin Montalvo

Irwin Montalvo is a proud Puerto Rican where he grew up competing and developing into a world class athlete in both Tennis and Baseball. Irwin is a former Minor League Pitcher in the Cleveland Indians system. As a professional baseball player and a ranked junior tennis player, Irwin developed his vast coaching knowledge.
Irwin has been coaching High Performance juniors for 25+ years and joined the BARC Team in 2015. Irwin believes in a strong work ethic with discipline and that players must have fun to truly enjoy the process to be their best!
Irwin’s students have achieved top Sectional, National, and International Rankings and dozens have played collegiately at prestigious NCAA D1 Universities and on the ATP/WTA Professional Tours.

Ramon Gomez

Ramon is originally from Venezuela and joined the BARC team in 2012. Ramon has been teaching tennis for over 25+ years and has been in a leadership position at BARC now for 13+ years!
Ramon is an accomplished athlete and achieved a top 15 National Ranking in Venezuela as a junior Tennis player. Ramon currently competes in Ironman Triathalon events and Races across the USA.
Ramon has been instrumental in developing and inspiring thousands of young tennis players at BARC! Ramon’s students have gone on to achieve sectional & national rankings with dozens of players earning the opportunity to play College Tennis!
Jason Kedzierski

Jason is originally from Reno, Nevada and he brings a wealth of knowledge spending his lifetime in and around the sport of Tennis! Jason joined the BARC professional staff in 2010 and has been an integral reason for BARC’s longevity and success!
As a junior player Jason earned #1 USTA Sectional Rankings in both Boys 16u and Boys 18u and played college tennis at University of Nevada- Reno. Jason brings his passion to the court everyday and inspires junior players to have a sincere passion for the sport and for the battle on the court!
Jason has developed and coached over 30+ District & State Champions, with many students achieving Top 10 sectional rankings in every age group and dozens going on to play at top universities across the country, earning NCAA Titles, WTA, & ATP world rankings!
Jason is also a National Rep for Yonex and can help every player find the ideal racquet, shoes, and clothing to look & play their best!

Rotimi Jegede “Coach Timmy” was born and raised in Nigeria. He competed at the highest levels in the world and attained a Top 100 ITF junior world ranking. Timmy competed in Junior Wimbledon, French Open, Swiss Open, and many more prestigious events across Europe.

Zach was raised in Indiana and attended the Professional Tennis Management program at Ferris State University. Zach earned his BBA in Business. Zach has served as Head & Asst Coach at The Village School, where teams have earned coveted District Titles and TAPPS State Championships! His goal is to provide all students with skills they can use on court as well as off court in their lives. Zach is very charismatic and he truly cares about others!

Carrie was raised in Omaha, Nebraska and she is a Proud Cornhusker! Carrie earned a #2 State Ranking as a Junior in Nebraska, and lead her High School Team to a coveted State Championship! Carrie competed at NCAA D1 University of Nebraska. Carrie is an amazing competitor on and off the court! She has won Marathons and captured Weight Lifting and Fitness Competitions across the US! In 2024 Carrie achieved a #2 National Ranking in USA powerlifting. Carrie loves racquet sports: tennis and pickleball and she wants students to share that excitement at all ages!

Matt joined the professional staff at BARC in 2009. 6′ 5″ tall and a lefty, he is a former collegiate tennis player with a big game! Matt has worked full time in the public school districts for over 23+ years and he is truly a teacher at heart! Whether you are on the court or in the classroom, Matt brings a large personality that is infectious! He is extremely talented and has been a huge part of everything we have done at the club since 2009. Matt truly cares and loves to share his tennis knowledge! His sons Nik and Vincent grew up at BARC and Vincent was a 2 time UIL State qualifier and achieved top 20 junior rankings in various age divisions! Vincent is playing College tennis at Concordia University in Austin, TX where he has played Line 1 Doubles and was Named Conference Freshman of the Year in 2025.

Yan Terekhin

Yan grew up in Russia and started playing tennis at 8 yrs old. After moving from Russia to Friendswood, TX Yan continued his love of tennis as an up and coming young player at Bay Area Racquet Club. Yan was a UIL State Qualifier in Boys Doubles at Friendswood High School! Yan is currently attending the University of Houston and teaching tennis at BARC. Yan has a strong playing background and can hit & compete at a high level. He is happy to share his knowledge and all that he has learned from his coaches to the students he coaches.

Gabbi grew up in Leander, TX (north of Austin). Gabbi earned many accolades as a junior player including Female MVP from the Capital Area Tennis association. Gabbi played College Tennis at NCAA D3 East Texas Baptist University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry. Gabbi brings her passion for the sport to the court all days and conveys her knowledge to all students!

Ray is a former Top 20 USTA Junior player and a State Qualifier. He brings nearly 20 years of teaching experience to the court. Ray has been a USTA Certified Referee and Tournament Coordinator for over 10 years, running high level USTA Tournaments at BARC. Ray is also a former Junior Director sat Zina Garrison Tennis Academy in Houston, and he is currently a full time Physical Education Teacher in HISD. As a USTA Certified Referee, Ray truly understands the sport from both a players standpoint and the tournament admin side. He cares and wants the best for every player! Ray has a young son Blake, who will be a future tennis stud!
